Housewifery

I made manicotti tonight. Homemade marinara and all. Without asking my mom any questions. I am rather proud of myself right now, despite the fact that by the end of it I was basically covered in Ricotta Cheese because the ever so handy Food Network technique of cutting the end off a ziploc bag rather than use a pastry tube was kinda messy. Or I'm just uncoordinated. I especially liked it when I squeezed the bag a smidge too hard and the zipper broke open and the ricotta/spinach/egg/seasoning mixture came bursting out. Regardless, it probably would have been worth the time to search through the cabinets to find the pastry bag.

No word yet on how good it is since it's still in the oven baking.

Stressed

I have a feeling this week is going to be hectic. I feel extremely guilty about not working all weekend. I'm also out of vodka and wine. Which means, around 8 I had a carb breakdown; pasta, homemade marinara and of course, cheese. I justified it by eating whole wheat pasta, but I'm not sure it makes much difference.

Friday Dog Blogging: Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Theodore has been getting a lot of additional attention since his Uncle has been home. I think he's had to go into his crate for about 2 hours total in the last week since someone is always home now. Plus his Uncle has been trying to take him for runs. Theodore generally refuses to run and braces himself with all 4 legs so his Uncle usually ends up carrying him like a football, until they get close to home when Theodore wiggles out and sprints to the front door.

In unrelated news, I am currently debating if leftover Tiramisu could be considered a breakfast food. Unfortunately, I am leaning towards no.

From The Kitchen.

I've mentioned a few times I've been cooking a lot more lately. Today I made pizza entirely from scratch. No cheating with store bought sauce or dough. The only assistance I had was from the bread machine, which mixed and raised the dough.

And yes, it is delicious.
