Elle Woods Welcomes Bruiser the Beta

He's pink and purple and is housed in a Suspended Aquarium Desk Lamp with Pink Gel Rocks (which are REALLY cool but do not photograph well).

Just as the name Bruiser implies he is very feisty and will cut you if you mess with him. He is also an entertainer and above average intellect, he has already realized he can swim through the Pink Gel Rocks and make them fly all over his tank.

Here is Bruiser checking out his sexxy body:

Here he is swimming in the Gel Rocks entertaining me:

He can be Beefy McManstick Badass Spatula's cousin. YAY!

Ohhhh, that makes us in-laws E-Spat! What color is Beefy McManStick Spatula?

He's the same color and everything! Maybe they're twins separated at birth!http://favorabledicta.blogspot.com/2004/12/total-badass.html

That is a damn fine looking fish E-Spat, if I do say so myself.

Bruiser is a little more Purplish/Pink then Beefy but I think it might be possible that they are twins as I am not sure I've ever seen such attractive fish in my life. But then again, I would expect 2 lovely ladies like us to have gorgeous male fish.

It's so true! Beefy is a handsome fella -- and with a name like Beefy McManstick how could he be anything but a total studmuffin?? All the lady fish scream and faint whenever he passes by.

Yeah, see Bruiser is rather femme despite his name-I hope you like the new pics!

They're beautiful! I put up a whole bunch of Beefy at one point and then all my readers started taking bets about how long it would take me to kill him...and meanwhile he's STILL alive and if he doesn't die in the next week I don't have anyone to fish-sit him over the holiday. Damnit.

Where did you get the lamp/fishbowl with pink gel rocks? I sort of hate fish, but now I'm feeling a compulsion to get one right away...

The fishbowl lamp I got at Pet Supplies Plus, but I also saw them at Petco yesterday (the link in my post goes to the Petco page where you can buy it).

The gel rocks are a bit trickier. At Pet Supplies Plus they had the Beta's in tiny bowls with the gel rocks (the come in yellow, blue, clear and red; but the red is more pink). They didn't have a full bag of they but I loved them so much they sold me a partial bag so I don't know what they're really called or anything. They're like crystals that expand in water. I think he would also look really cool with those glass globs though (which Petco has) so if you can't find the gel rocks and really want a fish I'd get those.
