Form over Substance

Just to demonstrate what is really important to me I decided to post pictures of my Tax Outline(s).*

Here is my pretty purple binder:

Here is a side view of all my tabs:

Pink tabs are for the classnotes (of a friend), Yellow is for the outline generously donated by a reader, and Blue is for the Power Point Slides the Professor posts and Sample Exams.

We can clearly see what all my "study" time has been spent doing. However, I contend that it will pay off in the long run as when other students see me walk in looking well rested with a binder this organized they'll start second guessing themselves. It might be Bush League Psych-Out Stuff but that's how I roll.

*Do not think that because I have multiple outlines it means I'm prepared or that I myself actually created any of them.

i've read a lot fo your blog and i've enjoyed it. but who is gay husband?

The Gay Husband is a former roommate of mine (who is gay). We became really close and began cooking dinner together and eating together essentially every night. We basically acted like a married couple (we all know married couples don't have sex) so somewhere between all the meals, shopping trips, martini's, Sex and the City, My So Called Life, Cher, Madonna, and other random activities he morphed from "Gay Boyfriend" to "Gay Husband."

He's probably my best friend in the world, he is currently a Vet Student and lives about 8 hours from me. We still chat everyday and I fully plan on him being my Maid of Honor if I ever get married.

Simply put, he's amazing.

IT's all about the pretty outline psych-out. I tab my outline now and make a table of contents not for my own use but to distract others with the little sticky flags.

Last year I wore a shirt that said "Everybody wins with mesothelioma" to my torts exam; that distracted enough people that I did really well. That was back in my get stoned everyday phase, so I'm convinced it was the t-shirt.

That shirt is awesome...It sounds like something I would have worn in my "Get Stoned Every Day Phase" also. I'm really considering wearing my elf hat tomorrow to these exams, but I'm afraid people won't take my outline seriously then.

Maybe I'll just have to throw on some of my "going to the bar" clothes and see how that works.

The worst thing about being a former slacker is trying to motivate yourself to do well for once without resorting to bobbing green glitter shamrocks on a headband.

Elle Woods said...

The messed up part, is that I TOO have those "Dingy Bobber" Shamrock Headbands.

I got the shamrock headband at school and wore them all day, just so my attention whoring self could be told I look like a lucky alien, etc. by my favorite professors.

I linked you on my other blog, not Overheard, just so you know.

I got my Shamrock headband from a cute drunk guy last St. Patty's Day (My first one after I turned 21)...Good times. They're hanging on my mirror currently.

I'll add a link for you too!
