Stressed.

Pondering the chances of ever getting another job ever if I were to not only not accept an offer from my firm but also quit working effective nearly immediately. I think [Hours] has finally pushed me a too far. I realized I'm like a battered wife who is always making excuses for their abuser and I am not sure I can keep it up anymore.

Chances = good. This is a summer job, right? And it is August? Can't you just take a little break before school starts? No one needs to know how much notice you gave. Although I am learning that the legal community is small, so can you do this all in a way that won't make this firm talk nasty about you?

A friend of mine, who is just finishing a clerkship, turned down the position at Big Firm, where she had summered, to go work in a government job. The recruiter at big firm gave her shit and made her feel horrible, but the partners and everyone else who mattered told her that she "had to do what was right for her" and that she would always have a place at Big Firm.

Moral of the story: Tell your firm that you are going into Peace Corp or something equally heroic... ;) In any case, don't waste your time working at a place you hate, life is really too short to be miserable!!

Stick in there.

There will always be another job out there. There are always more experienced attorneys looking to abuse younger attorneys. Isn't that a pleasant thought?

that sucks Elle! you can stick it out for the rest of the summer, then reinterview, right?
BTW the old format was a lot more accessible. Bring it back, but keep the comments!

No decision yet.

M-No can do, I could not figure out how to put comments in the old one.

Thanks for all the support!

What are you talking about elle, don't you remember russ and mike callin you out all the time in your old comments? =P.
On the other (less important) thing, make them sweat it out, no matter what you choose, you've worked too hard for these bastards.

Thanks E, but I think we both know I'm only a good writer when my secretary is proof reading.
